Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name, a case number, or a date of birth into one of the search boxes on this site, the query passes straight to the outside provider that runs the search. That company processes the request and returns the results. We do not keep a log of what you typed on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we keep the message so we can answer it. The message stays with our team, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page here loads, the server records a set of technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- The browser you use and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The site or search engine that sent you here
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files your device stores so we can see how visitors move through the pages. Analytics services help us total that traffic up. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may not behave the same way afterward.
What We Do With This Data
Data collected here is used for a short list of purposes.
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Passing your search request to the correct partner service
- Seeing which pages readers find useful and which ones need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Serving advertising that may relate to your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, build, compile, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. We publish guidance about where Sherburne County warrant records are kept and how to check them through District Court Administration, the Sheriff's Office, and the public case systems that exist in Minnesota. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing collected from visitors is assembled into a consumer report or a file about a third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes here are run by outside companies. Whatever you type into one of them is processed under that company's privacy policy instead of this one. Those partners decide how long they keep a query and who else sees it, and we have no control over either. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to court pages, sheriff and county offices, Minnesota statutes, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then applies to your visit. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across websites to target ads. That tracking runs on their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A limited set of parties may receive information:
- Search partners that handle the queries you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on these pages
- Law enforcement or a government body when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to protect the data we collect. Nothing connected to the internet is completely safe, and we cannot promise that a breach will never happen, but we take reasonable steps to keep visitor information secure.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, email us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, state privacy and consumer-protection law may give you extra rights over your data. Minnesota's Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. Chapter 13, governs how government offices handle data, and other states have their own privacy statutes. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change over time. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date, so check back if you want to follow how visitor information is handled.
